2010-01-12 Aspire implements Architectural Heritage Survey solution at NMBM The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality(NMBM) is currently busy with a “wall-to-wall” survey of all properties in the older areas of Port Elizabeth. Aspire Solutions has assisted the client with both handheld and desktop GIS solutions to assist with this survey and to streamline field operations. These include the use of hand-held computers (Trimble Junos) in the field to take photos, spatially locate buildings and capture data with regard to buildings in the area. After the data is collected, field workers use desktop software to consolidate it, capture more details and automatically synchronise it with the corporate GIS data on the NMBM servers. |
