2010-04-01 Airports Company SA GIS Airports Company SA’s GIS is expanding by leaps and bounds. Aspire Solutions has recently deployed Emergency and Security Systems that produce standard maps for compliance purposes. Aspire is furthermore implementing at least three new GIS applications over the next few months. These include an Apron Planning Tool which will assist the airport operator to determine which apron bays are suitable for which types of aircraft, a new Navigation Signage Audit tool will assist Airports Company SA to determine whether their navigation signs on airside are compliant with ICAO standards and an integration of the GIS with Airports Company SA’s Fuel Asset Monitoring software that will allow managers to see the spatial distribution of defects, unprotected fuel assets and plan accordingly. |
